Looming southwest of the Agusan Valley is this majestic mountain plateau.
It rises to 2,214 feet (675 m) above sea level. Mount Mayapay got its name from the ancient Madjapahit Empire. The history behind the Sri-Vishaya period bears much meaning and influence of Butuan's pre-historic and archeological discoveries.

Dear Sir/Madam:

I have a friend who is doing her thesis on watershed sediment and nutrient supply to the marine environment. I encouraged her to focus her study in the Agusan River Basin and Butuan Bay. I believe that by encouraging researchers to do studies in our area, we can better understand the agusan river watershed ecosystems.

In view of this, she will be needing data on sediment supply to Butuan Bay like those obtained using sediment core or traps. Data on nutrient (phosphates and nitrates) discharrge by the river will also be helpful. She will be needing this for her models.
